National Airlines Crash

RIP

Article says it appeared they stalled - wonder if cargo shifted

According to contacts here at work, an MRAP weighing 24,000 lbs did shift, as was reported by the pilots before going down. Was told this morning that the load shifted aft, causing a severe nose up pitch attitude that they were able to actually recover from. As soon as they got the nose down, the load shifted fwd and sent them nose down. Crewmember names have not yet been released but a coworker of mine knew everyone onboard. Sad, sad day...

Thoughts and prayers going out to the families of the 8 reported crewmembers on board who lost their lives today... Very sad...

I did see an update that said there were 7 crewmenbers on board, not 8, although it was initially thought to be 8. Very sad and tragic.

Yes, that is correct. The actual number was 7.

This is why W&B is so important. Absolutely horrific. I tried to abstain from watching out of respect for the crew, seems a little soon to plaster the video all over the Internet....

I saw the video yesterday, its shocking..the plane just stalled so quickly that it didn't almost seem real..

R.I.P. the crew and condolences to their loved ones..

Truly very sad!

You never want to see something like this happen!!

Since this was an airbase, was the load put on by US Airmen or Afgan Airmen?

There was a Nat'l loadmaster on board... It's very, very sad...

Apparently, looks like a repeat of Fine Air.

Fine Air never recover from that accident because the FAA generally will become your neighbor and nothing is ever good enough for them. I would hate to be the POI or Maintenance Inspectors on that case.
