NASA releases design for personal "flying suit."

For some reason, I see that landing on it's tail then the wings and engines fold down and the damn thing walks off like a transformer. Don't know why...I just do.

C'mon now. NASA needs something to do now that the shuttle's are going to the boneyard.....

Yeah, like teach me how to fly the T-38. But seriously, aren't we talking about going back to the Moon, and Mars. Spend it there rather than on some useless toy. Look how many have failed before them, and not all because their design was wrong, but be cause of the integration into the current system.

Gentlemen, I have three words for you: "The Commuter Cannon!" It gets you from home to work in under two minutes, with only a 1% chance of a detached retina, and only 0.01% chance of liquefaction.

Up next: "The Commuter Landing Pad!"

But seriously, aren't we talking about going back to the Moon, and Mars. Spend it there rather than on some useless toy.

But it has "a low eniromental impact." The discoveries will help in other areas, so even if it fails, its still a success. :sarcasm:

Reminds me of the Lockheed XFV and the Convair XFY of the 1950s.

I didn't realize the tethered tests were done in the dirigible hangar at Moffet.

"Convair and the United States Navy have begun a new chapter in aviation." :)
