Nantucket Shuttle

I received a phone call from Nantucket Shuttle yesterday, they're looking for pilots to fly the HYA-ACK runs in 402's. The DO said my resume was on his desk, not sure how it happened, probably off of a job board or something. Anyway, HYA is too far away for me, but perhaps someone else may be interested. And by the way, they are taking part-timers as well. If you don't have ATP mins, they'll put you in the right seat until you do.

Hope this can help someone.

Is this their website?

www.nantucketshuttle.net

That's a painful site to look at. Do you have any other details on them?

I love Cape Air and the type of flying they do. They sit high on my list of possible future employers. N'Shuttle looks like they are going head to head with Cape Air. Yes?

That looks like them. The only other details that I have is the DO's name and number, which if you want I can pm to you. I haven't looked into them at all, as I said they called me. On a different board, a couple of people said some not so good comments regarding Nantucket Shuttle, but one of them was a Cape Air Captain, so take that for what it's worth.

I think that flying the HYA-ACK runs would be fun too, but HYA is too far south for me.

Good luck,

Thanks. I'm just beginning my CFI and only have about 300 hours TT. So I have a good year or so of flying left before I could ever be competitive enough to apply. I'm just compiling a basic list of future places to apply once the time is right since I'm looking at all options from regionals to air charter to other operational roles that involve flying... so many future possibilities!

I would steer clear of the "Shuttle."

I flew them once and that will be the last time I will do that. The FAA was all over them last year. They have a well earned moniker in the ACK tower as the "s--tbag shuttle."

As a former Cape Air Captain, NOOO!!!! Listen, I had friends who fell on tough times who went to work for the shuttle because they needed a job immediatly and could not find one, they ran as fast as they could away from the place when they got the chance. The one guy said it was like sitting next to a bomb, the clock hands are ticking away, and no one knew when it was set to explode.

There is a reason people always say they are the second rate carrier up there. A lot of people who know a thing or two about it have all said the same things. If you want to do that kind of flying go call Cape Air, and do it right.

Quote from their website:
"If You're Not Flying The SHUTTLE, Ask Yourself Why?"

Ha ha, sorry. I just thought that was funny given their apparent reputation. Anyways . . .
