As an aside. I used to bartend and also quasi-manage the dive. We had a group of older guys that would come in around lunch every day, get a burger and drinks and shoot pool for a couple hours. Jerry was one of them. He was kind of an ass and didn't always settle up his tab to our satisfaction (yet just enough that we allowed him to continue). Anyway, Jerry doesn't show up for a couple days and we finally get word that he croaked. It was toward the end of the month and he had an open tab. I placed a pitcher behind the bar with a large note that read: "The Jerry Winger Memorial Fund" and after a month I used the contents to pay off his tab. My question is - does this make me an ass?
