Which one?

Did it used to be a nudist colony? Mallards Landing near ATL used to be a nudist colony, and earned the nickname "Shiney Hiney"

LOL! I can get the same result from looking at a strobe light from 2 inches away... not that I really do that.

Not to steal anyone's post, but how do you live in an airport?

[/ QUOTE ]
It's basically like living in a classy subdivision with a runway. Spruce Creek in Daytona Beach is a prime example. Florida has a ton of these places. Jumbolair in Ocala is another. 'Course those are both well known since John Travolta either lives or has lived in both. I wouldn't mind living in one, and my wife actually likes the idea, too.

Yup, there are a few around here in Illinois too. One of them is a subdivision that is connected to an airport. The planes are all hangered at the runway, but the road that connects to the airport is part of the subdivision. Another one has teh hangars connected to the houses, but no houses right by the runway. The streets can be used as taxiways. The third is one where all of the houses surround the runway...not off either end just down the sides. The roads go around the runway with the garages and houses facing it, and then the houses have hangars connected to them that face the back, where the runway is.

Be careful flying around Naked Lady. They have had so many gawkers in 152s flying low around there (supposedly looking for the naked lady) that they are taking down tail #'s and reporting them to the local FSDO.

By the way, it's a name - there is no naked lady on display!

I think fly-in communities are going to be the last stand for private airstrips in the next couple of decades. The real estate value is a lot more than sentimental value, and I expect to see many of the strips down this way to be subdivisions in 10 years.
