You will work in collaboration with the Director of Flight Operations to maintain operational control of company aircraft, plan flight departures with a focus on safety and compliance, and analyze weather and airport conditions to anticipate potential impacts on aircraft operations.</p><p> </p><p>Responsibilities:</p><ul><li>Maintain operational control of company aircraft according to regulatory requirements and company procedures.</li><li>Plan each flight departure with a strong emphasis on safety, compliance, and schedule continuity.</li><li>Analyze weather and airport conditions to anticipate changes that may affect aircraft operations.</li><li>Calculate fuel requirements based on aircraft type, distance, weather conditions, destination alternatives, and regulatory guidelines.</li><li>Prepare flight plans and sign flight releases, ensuring all necessary information for safe flight completion is included.</li><li>Provide assistance to the pilot in command during emergencies to ensure safe flight operations.</li><li>Monitor flight progress and update flight crew on significant changes to weather or flight plans, recommending alternative measures for safety when needed.</li><li>Authorized to delay or divert flights in the presence of unsafe conditions that may jeopardize crew, aircraft, cargo, or the flight itself.</li><li>Maintain competency by successfully completing all competency checks, including recurrency and company training.</li><li>Ability to work independently with minimal supervision on multiple tasks, prioritize, and complete tasks with excellent attention to detail.</li><li>Other duties as assigned by management.</li></ul><p> </p><p>Position Requirements:</p><ul><li>A high school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required.</li><li>Current or ability to obtain a U.S. FAA Aircraft Dispatcher Certificate issued by the Department of Transportation within 18 months of hire.</li><li>Two years of aircraft dispatch experience is preferred.</li><li>ETOPS experience preferred.</li><li>Strong ability to prioritize and be proactive in a fast-paced and changing environment.</li><li>Excellent social skills and ability to collaborate effectively with various partners.</li><li>Problem-solving skills and ability to handle both practical and abstract variables.</li><li>Proficiency in computer-based environments, including Windows and web browsers.</li><li>Must pass a pre-employment drug test, criminal background check, and TSA security threat assessment.</li></ul><p> </p><p>Language and Social Skills: This role involves extensive communication with flight crews, members of the Systems Operations Control Center (SOCC), and other partners.</p><p>Work Environment: The majority of work is performed in an office environment with standard indoor temperatures, adequate ventilation, and appropriate lighting.</p><p> </p><p>Physical Effort: While performing the duties of this job, you will be required to sit, talk, see, and hear regularly.
