Hello,

I'm glad to be part of this forum, and I'm looking forward to contributing as the process continues. Here is my timeline so far:

California OTS Application - 5/07
AT-SAT Notification - 7/07
AT-SAT - 9/07
Referral Notification ZOA - 1/14/08
Faxed Requested Forms - 1/14/08

A couple of notes to my application process.

My background is strictly in the aviation industry. I do not have a college degree, although I have a handful of credits! :panic: I was a Ground Instructor for two years and a CFII for almost two years as well. I have also worked for an airline in the Customer Service Department.

I had originally applied for a Tower position only. In the last week of December, the ASAP web site showing my application status, indicated that I was not selected for that Tower Position. In november, thinking that I should not have placed all my eggs in one basket, I e-mailed the FAA asking whether I could also be considered for ZOA (Oakland Center). I never heard back, but it may have paid off as I just received a notification of referral yesterday.

I will continue to post updates as the process continues. Good luck to everyone else!
:)

hey have a Question for u who u email... can i have that address or where i can find it! thanks:)

Hi,

I used the e-mail address that was provided at the bottom of the position/announcement listing. I included the contact information below, but as you can see by the address, it looks like this is for the Western Pacific Office only.

For more information about this job, call Western Pacific Region Human Resource Office at 310-725-7800 or email to 9-amc-amh300-public-announcement-tracking@faa.gov.

I applied OTS (with a Bachelors degree in a non-aviation field and a few years work experience) for my home state (MN) on 6/15/07, a week later ASAP told me I would be contacted with information regarding taking the AT-SAT. Still waiting and begining to lose hope. I've tried calling the number given on the ASAP site and they told me in August I might have to wait a couple weeks, same thing in October and again in December. Recently the ASAP website went through some interface changes and it no longer says anything about being able to take the AT-SAT. Not sure what happened or if I am still gonna be contacted but like I said I am beginning to lose hope. Anyone else apply for MN and receive any contact?

Anyone else find it ironic that the application website uses the acronym ASAP?

Berg,

Bob Oborsky, AT-SAT Program Manager
Robinson Aviation (RVA), Inc.
boboborsky@coxinet.net

Try the above contact information if you have not done so already. Mr Oborsky is in charge of the AT-SAT program, and he may be able to give you some sort of time-frame. I contacted him once when I was waiting for my AT-SAT date, and he responded fairly quickly.

Keep us posted!

Berg,

FYI, I applied 8/6/2007 for anything in SC. On 1/3/08 I received the message that they will be contacting me about AT-SAT testing in a few weeks. Yesterday, I received an e-mail with the following information.

Thank you for your application for employment as an Air Traffic Control Specialist with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). Our records indicate you applied for an ATCS position under announcement number, AAC-AMH-07-PUBSC-06378. Due to the overwhelming interest we received in these positions, several portions of the process have experienced unexpected delays.

Due to these delays we are sending this notification to let you know that the FAA continues to be dedicated to ensuring your application will remain valid and may still be considered for future testing and/or vacancies.

We appreciate your interest in the Air Traffic Control Specialist occupation and the FAA. We regret the amount of time that the process has taken and want to provide our contact information, if you should have any questions.

Our Aviation Careers Division can be reached at 405-954-4657 or by e-mail to 9-amc-amh-300@faa.gov

I have e-mailed them today for claification if I am still in line for testing or what the deal was. I don't know if they are having the same issues/high demand for other postings or not, but it is evident they are running slow.

Yeah, I just received that email today. Kind of weird timing since yesterday was the first time I decided to comment/complain about the process and lack of communication on the FAA's part. At least it shows things are still happening, albeit slowly! Also, thanks for the contact information ATC Vector. I'm going to hold off emailing them a little while after finally hearing something from the FAA. But eventually I'm going to have to look into this further.
