My time to shine with Cape Air

Hello folks,

It has been an interesting journey for me in my short aviation career but i am very fortunate to have a chance at an interview with Cape Air in the next month. I have been looking forward to this day since my days at SIUC.

I wanted to know if anyone can help me prep for the interview that i will be having with them in Mid-October? I have been looking online and have read articles to help me out and give me an idea of what to expect. I still feel like i can gain a lot more information and would really appreciate the JC-community's input on things that i cannot read online about what they will be asking me during the interview.

Did you look on aviationinterviews.com? There might be something there for you.

Not joking, that's a good interview prep website for a lot of companies, mostly part 121.
 
I think @dasleben worked there years ago, he might be able to shed some light on your questions.
Aviationinterviews.com is spot on, at least it has been when I used the site.
 
I interviewed with them back in May. Most of the gouges online are pretty accurate, but I didn't have any technical questions at all (YMMV). Mostly customer service oriented stuff, "what would you do" scenarios. The HR people are nice, just be yourself; they want to know that you can interact with their repeat/regular customers in a professional and pleasant fashion (there's no door between the front seats and the plebeians in a 402...)
They're pretty desperate for pilots, I got an offer two days later
 
Hey guys. Yes i have got all my information from Aviationinterviews.com and a few people that have worked there. But just like @bimmerphile said, there might be other things that are not on there. I am just trying to make sure i go in there as prepared as possible so if anyone knows any more information, please feel free to share.

You sound like you are trying to prepare so you will be fine. I definitely over prepared. They asked me about procedures for losing an engine in a light twin.

In an alternate world, alternate me is throwing bags in blue-tail roadblock and flying 6 legs a day in the state of Massachusetts. And happy as a pig in slop doing it. Unfortunately after the great meltdown of 08 that's not how things went.

Yes, a couple of people in my group got that question. 6 out of 8 of us were hires. Out of the two that weren't, one was a retired Southwest captain that only wanted a Montana base and the other guy had 2 more interviews after Cape Air.

They asked me that in my interview 7 years ago. I thought it was some New England, native american word and just sat there like dumbass while the guy I was interviewing with rattled off the acronym. They must have found my nescience cute and endearing since they hired me anyway.

They hired you because you were able to use "nescience" correctly in a sentence. They are a Mayflowery, New England operation after all. Did you wear a white shirt, khakis, blue tie and blazer to the interview? That helps, too. But you've got to tuck in the shirt ... unless you are truly badass.;)

Oh God… Yeah, I think I did. I don't recall owning a suit at the time so it would have been purely a coincidence. At least that's my story and I'm sticking to it.
