My hand has been forced

So, I was planning on leaving my full time job on May 12, and attending Ari ben for some time building, and an mei. then heading back up to DC to cfi and work at the outback part time. Financially i had it al figured out. until yesterday. Management had caught word of my plans and decided to pull the plug sooner than i expected. I always thought i did a pretty good job at my full time work, and always tried my hardest. But they threw together every small mistake ive made in the last 6 months and threw it in my face....I was canned in the boardroom.....Donald Trump style. Oh well, now i get to be paid to teach people to fly airplanes full time. If anyone in the DC area needs to do some flying please hit me up.

TO be honest, Im not sad about being fired as I wanted/needed to quit that horrid desk job. But I am more pissed at the way it was handled. You work for someone for 3 years and this is how you are treated. Oh well. Lesson learned. And i couldnt have picked a better day to get canned. It was sunny and 75. friggin awesome out.

Turn the page....and lets start the next chapter in this adventure.

ahh yea, i know that method well.. a lot of that has been going on in my office for the past year or so..luckily, not me yet... but i do know the feeling - very underhanded, manipulative and sneaky! sorry you had to go through that!!

but hey, now you can really get going on what you'd rather be doing and that's all good!! :nana2:

So when you get on with the airline (And you will) Show back up in your uniform and tell them oh yeah, I forgot something........ I'm sure they'll get the hint.

Glad to see your moving on Keep it up!! Looking forward to reading your next chapter.

Triple 7, when you are flying jets for a living you will look back and think that was the one of the best things to happen on your aviation career path, since it kicked your arse over to Ari-Ben and started you off as a CFI sooner.

Good luck to you old chap.

thanks guys.....yeah, it was a real show in that room. I wanted to say something but i just sat there quietly....it wouldnt have mattered what i said. they had made up their minds. I am on the other hand pumped to be able to move on and start cfiing now.....and ari ben in a month. hel yeah. Ironic thing is that my office is pretty much where the airliners turn right base for 1R at IAD. Air france 038 heavy came over every day at 1230. I am sure one day ill be in the right/or left seat of an RJ laughing at those suckers down below. I wonder if theres a way to drop blue ice on the parking lot...haha.

Its all good. working the desk today. Im a proffesional pilot now...CFI full time. Lots more time to surf JC

And since you got fired, you can collect unemployment now. which you wouldnt have been able to do if you quit.....:D

is it really a good idea to collect unemployment? i heard from someone a long time ago that it didn't look good on a resume if you went and collected unemployment.. but again, that was long ago and i never asked for verification on that.. just always wondered.

If you qualify for unemployment, I would say take it. That is why you have paid taxes and your employer has the insurance. You will have to show that you are actively looking for employment to remain qualified.

I have never heard of an employer trying to get that information, and I don't even really know how they would find out. Plus, it would be illegal in most places.

well, thats what its there for isnt it? Its the people who abuse the system that give it a bad name. I know if i got furloughed or fired, I would try to collect if i qualified, while looking for my next job.

I just got fired too!

They made up some bs reason, and canned me. Which is ok with me, because now I can focus a lot more on my flight training.

(ps, don't ever use Sun Aviation in Vero Beach :) )
