My first interview

Ihave an interview on the 24th with Mesab/Colgan. I would really appreciate it if you can PM me or add a link(s) to the gouges that you used. Also if you can give any pointers or advice regarding the sim. eg; type/ model. sensitivities etc! I want to do this right and go there as Prepared as I can! Thanks and Congratulations!

I got the job! The sim eval went well today and they called me two hours later to welcome me to Mesaba. Training starts June 6th in Eagan. I'm stoked to stay with my folks. Thanks for all the words of wisdom!

I posted one on the Colgan interview thread. Keep in mind that this was Mesaba that was hiring me this time. However Mesaba does the hiring for Colgan now so I'm sure it will be useful.
 
Thanks everyone! I was sitting at my gate last night for a long time (O'hare shut down due to weather) and it was fun watching all the planes take off. Watching a Saab 340 taxi behind a 777 was pretty funny. Oh well I guess this is the first step towards flying the wide bodies. I can't wait to start this job!

Now I just need to keep my wits about me so I don't wash out of training. That would be a bad thing. I don't think I could handle another year as a flight instructor.

This might be a dumb question, but when you do the sim ride do you do it in the plane you will be flying, say CRJ or a Q400 or in what you were flying recently? If you've been flying around 172's but have the multi time, I would think it could get tricky flying around a jet you've never touched before.

Then again I have no complex sim experience and have flown nothing more powerful than a 182 so maybe it isnt that much different.

The sim eval was done (for me at least) in a Frasca multi engine piston sim. It has a six pack and an HSI. Pretty simple stuff.
