Yes, but they look at the entire applicant not just your scores. I hope you have good college grades to help show an academic aptitude.

Just remember...taking the tests is only one of the early steps on the long road to upt.

Your scores are competitive if they were to be included in a strong package.

T-38 or T-1 is decided at the end of T-6s. Roughly 1 out of 5 or 6 will get a T-38.

Fighter or not is decided at the end of T-38s, and the needs of the AF. The drops have been good lately, but there have been times where there weren't any fighters available at all.

You can get guaranteed fighters in guard/reserves, but that might be even more competitive than for active duty. Good luck getting to UPT.

Keep in mind that a standardized aptitude test is not an indicator at all of how well you will do in the airplane or the program. Like Soku said, you are going to have to do well in the airplane (or the "jet" as AF guys say) to get fighters. Best of luck, and keep your nose to the grind-stone. It's a whole lot of work and many hours of studying/prepping, but the first time you strap into a single seat jet, you realize it is all worth it.

Thank you all for the encouraging words! I do realize that this will be a long road ahead of me but I'm ready for the dedication!

That's cool, just be ready to fly a KC-135 with the same enthusiasm as you would for an F-16. I'm telling you man the margins that separate guys T-1s and T-38s is slim, and honestly some of it comes down to sheer dumb luck on checkride days or the who the IPs like more etc etc...

Your scores are definitely competitive, but as everyone else has said it is a very long and tough road to wings. Everyone wants to fly fighters for at least a day, but as has been pointed out, the odds are not in your favor. Make sure you get your head around the idea of watching fighters fly off your wing in the KC-135, because I know two T-38 guys who went to tankers.

P.S. - If you want real flying, go to where the flying is low! Helos!
