Multi-Engine Instrument Question

ATP's ACPP goes from private to private multi then directly to multi instrument. So I am confused, don't you have to have an instrument rating (single) to apply a multi instrument?

Are they leaving out the single instrument in the ACCP?
Can you really go from private to private multi then multi inst? That would save alot of $$ on single instrument time.

Here's another Q's: Am I stupid? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

If I'm not totally confused right now the path to a CFI would be

Private
Instrument
Commercial Single
Multi Engine
Multi Instrument
Commercal Multi

Yes - If you take your instrument ride in a multi then you are good to go in a single.

At ATP it goes:
Private-Multi
Instrument
Commercial-Multi
Commercial-Single add-on
MEI
CFI/CFII

Yeah, there isn't a set order in which to obtain your ratings. If you get your multi-instrument first, it's retroactive for the single. So, you don't have to take a single engine instrument. You can also take your multi-commercial before the single commercial and like wise with the MEI before the single CFI.
