Multi-Engine Commercial checkride passed.

For the past week I have been training with ATP at Bowling Green KY. Weather was a problem, especially at first, but in the end it all worked out.
 
did you do just the comm-mel or mel-ia as well? as part of the acpp? or seperately? i am thinking about getting my multi rating with them in manassas....once i finish commercial. looks like its only a couple grand
 
I went in with a single engine commercial and instrument rating. I just did the Multi-engine addon for the above (4 days). Checkride consisted of short field takeoff and landing, normal takeoff and landing, steep turns, slow flight, power off stall, power on stall, vmc demo, engine failure - secure and airstart, instrument approach with both engines, instrument approach with failed engine and a single engine landing.
 
how difficult was it to grasp in 4 days? i hear bowling green fbo is a sh## hole....is that true?
 
There was an awful lot to get to grips with in the 4 days. The ground school stuff is not a problem, but getting comfortable in the Seminole in 8 hours (to checkride standards) was tough. In fact the flight before the ride went pretty badly I thought, and I was prepared for the worst. Somehow though the ride went very smoothly (actually my smoothest checkride yet). I was nervous though.

The things I found hardest to deal with is the increased workload of flying a more complex aircraft than I am used to. It was also the first time I had to fly instrument approaches in an aircraft more complicated than a 172 and using new avionics (HSI and Garmin 430 GPS). The Garmin and the HSI are nice, but not what I was accustomed to for instrument flying (I guess that is progress for you).

As for the FBO at Bowling Green, I think it is very nice. It seemed fairly new, so maybe the previous building was bad. That is far from true now though.
