Because we all could use a laugh...

This Harrier is for sale on eBay. Note the cat perched on top of the canopy.

Something tells me that this is going to go the way of the F-18 that was on eBay for all of about a day.

But the cat... I'll take the cat. Make me a nice chamois.

I'm gonna ask a really, really stupid question. If you bought something like this (ex military aircraft) and managed to get it airworthy, how would you go about getting rated in it as a civilian? Is it even a possibility?

I would guess the same as it would be for an L-39 or something similar. Experimental category and an LOA or something. But I don't know much about it.

Most jet warbirds are certificated in the Experimental-Exhibition category. One of the challenges is getting your maintenance program accepted, which becomes part of the Operating Limitations of the Airworthiness Certificate. There is one civilian Harrier on the airshow circuit:

Cat needs a military haircut. Must be a white seat harness, since s/he's in almost all the photos on eBay.

I thought 'stuffed' but her head moves. Maybe s/he's the heads-up display...
