. . . and a few Winn Dixies still linger around. Aldi stores are a better bang for the buck but be prepared to do your own bagging!florida has its perks...one word...publix...
St Augustine is one of FL's hidden gems IMO. Too bad it's so far from MIA. Would like to live there but can't justify the many hour drive!Yea here in jax we have our share of chain restaurants and stores, but we also have a ton of great mom n' pop places too. Plus st Augustine is only a 25 minute drive down A1A from here and they have a ton of great places to eat and shop too.
Thanks, •.Gonzo said:You must of lived in the wrong part of FL. Where I live there is less than a handful of chain restaurants within 5 miles of me and a ton of locally owned small mom-and-pop restaurants. Am I right @drunkenbeagle @Rocketman99 @kfour
St Pete is nothing at all like that. Not even remotely. Perhaps the biggest problem is that everyone is realizing that and moving here.Zero Beach lol.......Lived in FL for a few years...Cheap and warm, the Mecca for the masses! Sorry...just too cookie cutter. A Walgreens and CVS on every corner across from the Wal-Mart, AppleBees and Chillis....ICK.
I'll second that . . . pretty cool approaches especially when landing on 18 with the sailboats (and their masts) transiting in and out of the marina . . . add to it a gorgeous downtown area and a world-class museum (Dali) all within walking distance!I agree! St. Pete is a great city. And there is nothing like landing on the aircraft carrier known as KSPG. And 1st Fridays....oh boy!!
