Most junior NYC MD88 captain...

Wow. That's incredible. Is that upgrade time artificially low because many FOs chose to bypass upgrade, or are they running thin on captains and hitting bottom of the barrels on their seniority list of pilots? If it's the latter I would be hard pressed to say that the majors won't be hiring like crazy over the next 5-10 years in the current environment.

Upgrade at American is considerably less than that
Granted, it's for the 190.

I know everybody likes to look down on the 190, but we all need to be thankful that American (and soon Delta) operate them with mainline pilots rather than continued outsourcing to the regionals.

Barely counts

If Delta keeps the separate payscale that is lower than the 717 for their 190s, and if their upgrades go as junior as LUS, are they going to "barely count" as well, or will everyone be salivating because Delta??

Barely counts because the pay not the size of the airplane. Barely counts because we are comparing a 190 captain making $140/HR vs a md88 captain making $190.

36% more pay to fly 10% more passengers? Sounds like a good deal to me.
