Most Important Things You've Learned

The only thing you need to get a pilots license is money. :bounce:
Too often that's the only thing one needs to get almost anything.

Weather is probably the biggest one. Sometimes saying "no" is more saying, "Well, that plan won't work, but here's an option that will." You can keep people on your "team" by phrasing it in a way that's not making that person the bad guy.

I await the day the primary reason for saying no is Wx. It's almost always Mx for me... and it's always heartburn. Perhaps one day FIFI will be just a name for a lapdog.

To be fair, weather being the most common was true when I was flying piston planes. A 210 just can't deal with the weather that even a 402 can, but a jet certainly is better. Ice and thunderstorms that used to be complete no-go items are now curiosities I observe as I go around. I still have more than twice as much time flying piston planes under 135 than I do jets in 121. So that will probably shift as my career goes forward.

Crop Duster, are you referring to THIS FIFI?!
