The guy must have been a proper lunatic, so of course I would! His designs only seem to be concerned with one thing only, speed.

It would have been cool if he had built the jet version of the Metro

From a pure desgine stand point, nothing can touch the Metro in terms of speed and efficiency. Seems the same can be said for this SJ30. It's an engineers wet dream.

I loved my short stint in the Metro. It there wasn't much easy about it.
 
I remember the SJ30 being discussed when I was just starting to fly 135. It was the "performer" of the VLJs and the rarest/most expensive.

I had also heard that Morgan Freeman was happy with his. Before this incident. It will be interesting to see what he picks as his next aircraft.

Nah the Honda Jet has always been an outside contender. The last VLJ to hit the market. Have they sold one?

The SJ30 was one of the first VLJs and it had an impressive performance. Super impressive for a single pilot aircraft.

I did hear one harrowing story about an Atlantic crossing to get to an air show in England, for a demo. They took a 1/2 baked airplane across the pond.

Not fun.

Just you wait, the Honda Jet is the next big thing for 2004!
 
It seems they cut quite a few corners in the development of the SJ30 - one of the prototypes suffered a loss of control during high mach flutter testing and crashed killing the test pilot. Apparently it was unrecoverable and he was unable to bail out due to being pinned by G-forces...

I figure you could sell the engines and avionics to be used again, the airframe could be cut up and sold as one off coffee tables, wall art, and what not.
