Morgan Freeman grounded.

Pretty serious blanket statements about celebrities, there! I'm sure there are other folks out there who heard the story saying, "Man, those stinkin' pilots who think they can just bust the rules." Or thinking that ALL pilots drink before they fly because of one stupid airline captain.

How about "all those pilots whoring themselves for free at the regionals" blanket statement?

Hey. Some of us have a greater sense of self-worth. I'm whoring myself out at a school of higher education, not some two-bit regional. Sure, I'm still a flying [censored], but at least my sluttiness contributes to the betterment of society.

I was rather impressed at Mr. Freeman's explanation of the events in laymans terms, rather than technical aviation jargon. Seems like a simple mistake. The possibility is there that his altitude deviation may have caused a separation issue or similiar which would be more serious than just "wrong altitude." Hence the censure of his certificates at this time. An ASRS form would have been a good idea here.

I see nowhere in this abbreviated news article where Mr. Freeman is rebuking the punishment afforded him. Seems to me he was just explaining what happened to cause the FAA action.

Could have happened to any of us. Be careful.

Ouch. I just got censored by the JetCareers machine. Sorry, Doug!

The next step is a censure.
