The 2011 Seaplane Fly in near Eagle River, Wi. Lots more pics at: http://www.zangzing.com/wisconsinseaplane
Our school's (Northwestern Michigan College) floatplane, moored on Pioneer Lake, WI
Eagle River (EGV), south of Pioneer Lake
Gary briefs the pilots on the Poker Run route. There were two separate groups, fast and slow, flying to 4 different lakes to get cards for the poker hand. We won 3rd!
The fast group gets ready for the poker run. Other events included the 100-ft message drop and spot landing. We got 3rd in message drop and I thought I nailed the landing but were outside the top 3.
A pair of Rans, on straight floats, heading out for the poker run event.
The Rans on the poker run
Seaplanes as far as the eye can see! There were about 27 at the fly-in.
Gary, the president of the Wisconsin Seaplane Pilots Association, flies this polished Cessna 120. Even on 90hp, it's pretty dang fast. Gary put on this event with his wife and did an amazing job. 3 meals, fun events, prizes, and good company. And perfect weather! There's nothing like jumping off your float into the lake.
Home, sweet home. Traverse City, Michigan.
