More on Comair

It was not
uncommon during those days for some of the instructors at the Academy to try
and stand up for the students who were being brushed aside by scheduling to
make room for the foreign students. Some of those instructors were fired or
given '509' or '609' rides (I can't remember the numerical terminology for
that type of involuntary FAA evaluation ride). There was only one
instructor who was fired for good reason, others were denied employment at
Comair Airlines. Employment with Comair was the carrot the Academy dangled
to get you to attend the school in the first place. It was also the carrot
that kept the instructors in line. I know of only one person in our class
who actually was hired at the academy. Very few (one?) in my class ever
made it to Comair Airlines. Many left to complete their training elsewhere.

Sorry to hear you had such a horrible experience at CAA. Hopefully, you have moved beyond that and are gainfully employed doing something you like. (flying?)

FYI - don't know how closely you've followed CAA since you left, but they are no longer known as "Comair Academy".

They are n/k/a "Delta Connection Aviation Academy."

I did the FBO route, so no promises were made and none broken. It's all on me. Just the way I like it.
