You mean with trim and your feet, right?!

What's that museum at Dover called? Can you go inside the planes they have on display on their ramp? Looks like a nice collection. I might have to take a student over there on a cross country.

It's the Dover AFB Air Mobility Command Museum. You can go inside most of the planes, flying in there might be a bit of a challenge though!

Dover Air Force Base! D'oh! Yea I don't suppose they would let civilian traffic in there. Damn! It's 56 nm from my home airport. Perfect X-C distance too.

Mike

You can go in there, it's just a matter of paper work. Are you with Proflight?

Alex, are you based at KEVY? we flew in there once last spring looking for the grass strip but it was too muddy to use. lot of deer in the trees during our runup at the end of 17

Proflight, yea.

My first CFI is there now, his name is Adam, I can't remember his last name. I fuel up the Katana's all the time (I work at GED).

Triple7,

I'm based out of GED, about 40 miles south of EVY, but I fly there often.

Awesome, I like working with Adam C. I'll probably see you in over at GED sometime, since that's where we usually go with the Navy students. I'm hoping they'll give me at least one or two when a new batch of them start in January. I've only had civilians so far.

Mike

If you remember do me a favor and ask Adam if he remembers me, I only flew with him five or six times. Just say I was his 300 hour PPL student.

Hey, I used to be at Dover! Got my Pvt-Comm there. Was a Crew Chief on C-5s from 1997-2000. That club saved me sooo much money. I actually miss flying those planes. The Cardinal was my favorite. Is Bob still there?

Going into DAFB

Someone mentioned if it was hard to make arrangements to land at Dover...if I remember right the only issue with the paperwork was insurance. The senior leadership at the base worried about how insurance would cover it, because the military definitely isn't covering it. So make sure your insurance covers the operation in and out of a military base, and DEFINITELY call base operations the day of your arrival to confirm that they are expecting you.

SWEET! I drive by Dover AFB alot, nice to see it from the air. Nice shot of ILG to, looks way different from the ground.
