Where can I find a classy old airplane with such low fuel consumption (and two engines)? Best I can find is 30gallons/hour.

LOOOOOOL, I'm with this guy! If you're gonna get your license pulled for doing something, at least do it like a SIR!

I'm reminded of an HST quote. "If you're gonna loop out and hit something, hit it hard"
 
Getting my ME rating years ago, the instructor had me practice low altitude turns (100'-200' AGL) over a lake. The purpose was to prepare me in the event I HAD to fly low over water. I learned why most visual cues become worthless over water, how to establish a visual aim point, and how to be smooooth in the turns. This training saved me years later when a sequence of events put me under a low (500') overcast in a mountainous area with TV & radio towers all around. The lake we were over was the only safe place to fly until we found the nearest airport and a clear route to it.

Low over water when you have to, otherwise no thanks.

As I have said, engines configured in the "V" configuration are totally acceptable - from V-8's (OX5) to V-12's to V24's (the Fiat powered machine I love). Concur.
 
Plus, it has a tailwheel, and killed Nazis. I'd say that's a win win.

Not to be outdone, I give you the Argentines:



If you watch his airspeed on the HUD (which is hard to make out) it goes above 390 kts in the dive so I'd say he's doing 400-something... at 3 ft AGL. Leaves a nice trail in the grass.

What were we talking about again? Oh yeah... that Mooney pilot deserves to die.

That Connie fly over is one of the coolest things I've ever seen. That has to be the one in Kansas City right?
