Does anyone have any experience flying with Montgomery County Aviation at Wings Field near Norristown, PA? I'd be interested in input as I may move and might target them as an opportunity.

What brings you up here?

MCA used to be under a different name. I forget what it was but if I remember I'll post it. Anyway, I guess it's a new owner. I never flew there but stopped in once a few years ago. Seemed like they had two or three instructors at the time.

The owner, Tom, seemed like a real nice guy - and a businessman. Sounds like he has a steady flow of students, but I wanted to get a "reality check" on the actual student load.

All the planes are newer than 2000, which would be a change from the "gently used" aircraft I fly in DAB. Frankly it comes down to having students to pay the bills.

I'm not getting what I need in DAB and while visiting Dad over the holidays I took a jaunt to the strip, walked in, handed the sec'y a business card and in ten minutes he called basically saying I'm hired if I want it. He has too many students and not enough instructors.

I can get away with about a month at Dad's rent free while I look for a place (woo hoo!) and the jump from $13.50 and no bene's to $17 with bene's and students would be nice.

Of course, I'd have to learn the G1000 since one of their planes has it, and learn the Eclipse, but that's no big deal.

I just want to ensure that the $2k for a move is going to be worth it in the long term...
