Money for school???

IFLYAAORD

Well-Known Member
I was just wondering if anyone here might recommend any particular loan corporation for money to be used at a collegiate aviation program. I am registered at SIU this fall as an Aviation Flight major, but it looks like I am gonna come up short for the funds once the flight costs are tabulated. Any company known known for being extra generous (approving) of loans for aviation students? [Please don't laugh too much] Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Try Sallie Mae.

Going to SIU eh? My husband is a 1991 graduate of their aviation program!

Go Salukis!

Salukis suck....ok, now I have done my part. John would kill me if I didn't make a comment. Him being at Illinois and all.

Naw, we don't have a problem with SIU. We kind of look at them as our little brother. Heck, when SIU played Texas Tech a few years ago in Chicago for the NCAA tourneys, all the folks from Illinois stuck around and cheered for the Salukis.

I'd recommend Key Bank over Sallie Mae. Their interest rates were lower than Sallie Mae's, at least for my case. The lady at ATP who handles the loans also mentioned that Key Bank's rates have been lower for as long as she has been working there.

I mean, Illinois was my fourth choice and all.

From what I was told by ATP, Key Bank has just recently dropped their loan origination fees and you now only pay interest accrued on the loan. Also, another difference is that Key uses the LIBOR for interest and Sallie uses the Prime for their interest calculations.

I keep getting email from some Nigerian Doctor,Businessman, Government Official that swears you will recieve $10 million US if you can pony up your bank information.

Yeah, he sent me that e-mail also. I think there was also something in there about giving up a first born child or something. What a generous doctor, businessman, and/or government official.

I got this one yesterday!!

Attn:Sir/Madam,

I am Mrs. Ann Ovie Esq., a barrister at law. I am the personal attorney
to Mr.Wilson Turners, a foreigner who worked in Nigeria as a petrochemical
consultant to the federal government and some oil companies, and he is known
and referred to here as my Client.

On the 21st of August 2002, my client, his wife and their three children
were involved in a car accident along Bronu Express Road, here in Nigeria.
Unfortunately all the entire family lost their lives in the tragedy. Since
then, I have made several inquiries to locate any of my clients' extended
relatives but all my efforts proved unsuccessful. After these unsuccessful
attempts failed, I decided to go through internet means to locate someone
who is capable and trusthworthy who will claim this money as the next of
kin of the deceased family, hence I contacted you.

Now my contact to you is to assist me in REPATRIATING THE MONEY IN HIS BANK
ACCOUNT HERE before the accident, before the money will be confiscated or
declared unserviceable by the bank where he deposited this money valued
$18.4m. More importantly, the bank (Guaranty Trust Bank Plc), where my deceased
client deposited this sum of money has served me a writ of notice to provide
the NEXT OF KIN of my client, or the account will be confiscated.

Since I have tried and failed on several occasions in locating his relatives,
I am now seeking your consent to present you as the Next of Kin of the deceased,
while I will come over to your country for the sharing. I will take 65%
while you will take 35%. I have all the necessary legal documents that can
be use to back up the claim we will make. All I require is your honest cooperation
to enable us see this deal through. I guarantee that this will be executed
under a legitimate arrangement that will protect you from any breach of
the law.

For more details, kindly contact this email
address (chiefmikea@yahoo.com).

Please treat this matter as an urgent and confidential.

Yours faithfully,
Barrister (Mrs.) Ann Ovie.

I got an alternative loan from bank of america called the education maximizer loan. As long as you are enrolled in an accredited university you should be able to be approved. You can get up to $30,000 every year and it does not count against you for financial aid. There are also several options for repayment. You can go directly into repayment or do interest only payments until you graduate. My loan origination fee was five percent and my current interest rate is 5.75 percent. It is a very fast process and easy to get approved and get the money. You can find more info on the bank of america website under education loans.
