How are the newbies? How about the ones with the blue shirts?

Keeping busy? Too many students?

I'm out of the loop, how are things going?

They just announced in dramatic fashion that we are getting SR22s with air conditioning. The entire fleet of cadets will be replaced by them. The seminoles will be replaced with G58 Barons and we now have 3 CE 510s on order. They should be here next year. RF has come back and is now the center manager. Starting salary for new IPs will be starting $65,000/year. Those with previous airline experience/former employees will receive $80,000/year.

Aren't you glad you left?

Of course, I kid. Same poo different pile.

Hello fellow aviators! I'm happy to say that I will be going to FSA for the CFI course very soon. To make a long story short- My wife and I have been working/saving money a long time for this. (I started flying in 1997) Today we put a deposit down to rent a house 1.4 miles from the school. I'm just waiting to be laid off from my current job. I'm actually... looking forward to it!

Best of luck Ash! Let any of us know if you need help with anything.

Thanks! I'll be filling out all the application stuff tonight. I see that the cfi course doesn't really have a set schedule anymore. Looks like it's just "as needed" now. I'm wondering if the class will be one-on-one or if I will work out a start date with othe cfi students? I would think it would be better to have at least 2-3 people in class, no?

It would be nice to have others in a class. Unfortunately not many students are taking the CFI course right now. There isn't much domestic training around here. Do you plan to stay and work here?

Sorry bLiZ.....The thread has been hijacked and is now mine!

Yes, if I could stay and work there, that would be wonderful! As far as my plans go- that's my "best-case scenario". However, I understand that it's on an as needed/performance basis and like anything else in life- there is no guarantee. My number one goal right now is to become a strong flight instructor/pilot. Based on my previous experience with Flight Safety products, the academy has what I'm looking for. Even if you said, "Tough cookies! We aren't hiring!"- I'm still coming down...but it's a good thing our new place is month-to-month! Ha!

Don't worry Bliz, Ive squawked 7500 for you!

I dropped my application and $2,500 dollars off Friday! Everybody was very friendly. Just waiting to hear back for a start date. I'm guessing it will probably be July 1st. That should give me a little time to recruit somebody else so I'm not the only one in class! HA!
