This could go in the trading post, but I think it fits better here.

I've been making a patch cord so you can plug an mp3 player into a mil aircraft interphone system for a few months now. They're $50, and I fully guarantee the product. If it doesn't work or you don't like it, I'll refund you or replace the product. Pictures to be posted soon. I sell these guys on eBay at the link below:

Make one that will work with tactical aircraft (ie into the coiled wire going to the helmet) and I will give you $100.

That's pretty much what this is. It's got a male mil-spec intercom connector on one end, a female mil-spec intercom connector on another, and a 3.5mm jack spliced into it all. There's a kill-switch that's easier to use than finding the little stop button on your iPod. I use it in the F-15E, and I've got good testimonials from Viper dudes. I started making these several years ago as a Snacko. Only recently have I figured out out to get the parts commercially and put the whole thing in a plastic case. I used to just provide beer to our avionics back shop to get the connectors. Like I said...I stand by the thing. If you don't like it: send it back and I'll refund you.

Nice, I just couldn't figure out looking at the pic where that plug was supposed to go......does it go where the O2 mask bottom end plug hooks into the regulator on your vest? Anyway, I'd be interested

Affirm. It splices between the comm cable wrapped around your O2 hose and the jet. Though I remember a few things that I thought were f'ed up when I was last in the Hornet, I remember the helmet plug-in connection to be the same as the AF fighters I've flown. I could have brought the helmet from my life support locker, but it's not 69% covered in reflective tape.

lol....nice. That being said, at least we haven't jumped on the reflective belt bandwagon (yet). As for the Hornet being F'd up, guessing this was the backseat? If so, yeah that is a weird cockpit.....I feel like they didn't trust the WSO to do anything.....there is like 1 switch and the emergency brake handle, and that's pretty much it...at least on a missionized/WSO -D.
