i am trying to learn everything about weather reporting.
i have come across a hump in the road.
under the remarks, i have seen P0001 thru P0007, have tried looking in jepp books and other books can't seem to find it.
anyone have a clue for me?

The "P" section is in regards to hourly percepition in 100th of an inch.
Therefor P0007 would mean 7/100th of an inch fell last hour while
P0000 means trace precepitation was recieved.

P is for Precipitation.

00.01 inches of precip in the past hour.

If it starts with a 3 or 6 then its a 3 and 6 hour total. 60007 for example is 00.07 inches in the past 6 hours.

Pxxxx is precipitation in the past hour in tenths of an inch. P0000 indicates "trace" of precipitation.

To understand wx formats refer to the "safety of flight" chapter in the aim. I believe some of the above answers are close but inaccurate, however the Aim is the best source.
I do know that your question is addressed specifically in this section.

Happy studying
