So I'm getting changed in the commuter room here in ATL after my trip ended and I had the pleasure of meeting MDpilot!

Great guy!

That's cool!

Bill was in ATL today, in fact he should be getting back to ATL any minute now.

pm me if you are going to be around during the holidays

I missed the 11:45am flight to PHX so I sat around and talked to some old classmates until about 3pm. Was Bill there in that time frame? It's not a bad trip, it just returns at a 1154 where there isn't a non-stop to PHX on any airline until 1615.

If you run a real tight ship and you don't get screwed by having to fly the SINCA arrival out of CHS, you can shave a lot of time off the schedule and get in at 1130 -- and I arrived at the PHX flight gate just as it was pushing back. *sigh*!

Enjoyed seeing you yesterday, Doug. Always nice to put a face and voice to people. After I saw you, we did a MIA turn, then back down to PBI, didn't get to the hotel until after midnight. (Check out the glamour that goes with the "big bucks" everyone.) Out last set of flight attendants had been at work since 600 am pacific time, their day was longer than ours. Ah, the life we have!!

Yo ho, yo ho, a pilots life for me!

I've got the glamour of a 0530 push in BHM and a 0545 push in DAY this month! Two 0415 hotel shuttles in a row! At least the airports are quiet and it's just road warriors getting back and forth to meetings. All of the normal 'priceline.com' crowd doesn't usually appear until afternoon.

Something's wrong when I've had to de-ice a jet every morning for the past month when it's "clear and a million" outside.

Nah, he didnt' get to ATL yesterday til 4 or so, then had to do the forage for food, inhale food, get to gate thing anyway.

He's got a lovely 3 hour productivity sit in ATL today though! Then off to another 11 hour overnight.........

This is how 80% of my shows and start times were at my previous job. Lots of 4:00am and 4:30am van times. Most being on Eastern Time, so we'd cross time zones and arrive in Chicago before 6:00am!

Yeah, I remember arriving in ORD before 6. Too bad the rampers shift didn't start til 6, so we'd get to sit there with engines spinning picking our noses until it was time for the morning shift to start.

The worst for that was the 5:50 departure out of GRR. GRR is Michigan, eastern time, and it's a pretty quick flight. We would often arrive in ORD just past 5:30, and have to sit til 6.

No complaining allowed

You could still be furloughed!!!!!

mike

by the way...how is that rocket ship 757 treating you

I wasn't complaining, just trying to inject some realism into some folks' perceptions. 75/76 is a nice ride so far, just hope I don't get displaced after this bid. BTW we got rerouted today, now instead of a PBI layover, we're at LGA airport hotel. Just another bennie of airline travel!

I almost always have 0500-0515 shows in base to start my trips. Lots of early hotel vans too ... 5:30am in PNS all month long. Looks like 5:30am vans in RDU for all of January too. Price I pay for commuting home when I'm done.

MDPilot when did you upgrade to the 757/767?

When I got my training from furlough recall, it was to the 75/767. Started tng in Sep, finished the end of Oct. Laying over in MCO as we speak.

If you are where I think you are, there's a really good Indian restaraunt when you walk out of the hotel, turn 90 degrees to the right and cross the parking lot. I think the lunch buffet is like $8 or something.

Did the van service that uses the Scion pick you guys up?
