Met LoadMasterC141 yesterday!

loady and cbob are both my heroes. haven't quite met either but I almost kind of got in the process of initiating a meeting with loady but it didn't work out.

but that's cool as hell. I can't wait to get on a plane and squint at the pilot(s) and say "...... uhh are you ****** from JC?!?!"

I guess I have to be an airline pilot to get noticed then. I had to yell at Frog_Flyer, "HEY AREN'T YOU RAGGIO???", then JH totally dissed me :) , Ryan actually talked to me for a while though, and I talked to DesertDog on the phone and he sounded EXACTLY like I imagined him to.

Haven't really met any other JC members though, but it's no lie about it being a small community. Here in West Texas if I meet a pilot I don't know, chances are even if he's 30 years older than me we go to the same AME, have had a checkride with the same DE, know the same mechanics, or have flown the same airplanes. It's crazy.

"I have no idea who crosschecks APC's information, if anyone"

I met one of the guys who started ACP. Freightdawg. He's a young ONT F/O. He works really hard to put up accurate stuff so let me know if you see something wrong.

He picked my brain about what I liked about APC vs JC and the differences between the two. Two different target audiences and two different reasons for starting a website resulted in two very different sites. Doug started this as a hobby and it has more of a social flair. APC started as a place for guys to get concrete info about airline pay and contracts.

Couldn't agree more. APC provides a totally different product (IMHO) than JC. It wouldn't be fair to compare the two.

They both rock the socks off my world . . . for the specific product I am needing :)

Yup the world is truly smaller than we all think! As a Loadmaster, I ran into several friends in High School in some of the weirdest places:
-At the Aviano,Italy Snackbar.
-As a paratrooper in line to load up onto my plane at Pope AFB.
-On a little tiny island called Diego Garcia in the middle of the Indian Ocean.

I noticed Bob, just like he said, but did not believe it was him. When he set his bags on the jetway to head for cockpit permission, I had the chance to snoop at his nametag on his suitcase -ExpressJet- Bob !

You know a guy who is happy with his job when he just NEVER stops smiling, even when he is just deadheading home! I swear people, Bob is one of the happiest people I have ever met! As someone who is a similar career changer to Bob(Well...I am still a wannabe), I can say that his happy demeanor reinforced my desire to become a pilot more than ever. I felt bad for keeping him from getting home, and even offered him a beer, but instead he walked me to my gate and we chatted for some time.

Alot of people here bill Bob as an ATP recruiter of some sorts. I just don't believe that. The school worked VERY WELL for his needs and he shares that, and also gives liots' of info on ATP, but he has also given me alot of information about all sorts of paths. Just like he says in his posts here, make sure you research all sorts of schools and paths. What works for one person may not work for another. People like Bob give a great service to this field IMHO, and I truly appreciate it. Cheers Bob!

Frog, a few more months of paying stuff off and I need to pay a visit to GKY....We should meet for lunch or something! I gotta hear the Cuba story anyway! hehe.

I say if we all had a picture of ourselves and our name, we'd be spotted out PLENTY of times!

Maybe a good idea for a thread if people are up for it?

Ha! Maybe if you weren't always out with your hot chicka you'd have seen the thread in the lav a few months ago called:

"Show Your Ugly mug!"

:)

Shooot, I live 80 miles south of you and no love from you either.......:(

I was just in Rochester Friday night. My crew worked a football game at Rochester Century. Must have missed you.... ;)

I have flown in there a couple of times..... Nice airport and helpful controllers. I was on an IFR trng flight and they were happy to give me an ASR approach.
