Mesaba Rumor

this one is two part.

In january Mesaba will announce more aircraft, no word on type or number.

Looking for another 600 to 800 pilots. Looking for 1600-1800 pilot list.

This is all rumor and may be complete BS. Just thought i'd share.
 
Well northwest can only add 14 more -900s before they reach their scope limit of 90 51-76 seaters (36 E-170s at compass + 36 CRJ-900's at mesaba).

This cap of 90 can only be increased when NW has added at least 10 77-110 seat aircraft to mainline. This could be awhile as NW is supposedly looking at the still undevoloped generation of geared turbofan planes (like BBD C-series).

The additional growth of 14 is between us and Compass.

Is that what the rumor you heard is about?...these 14 planes?

Or is the rumor more far-fetched than that?

And by far fetched I mean a new aircraft type/saab replacement...

I heard a rumor it will be all of Colgan's old 1900's.:D
 
haven't heard anything about number or type. something is suppose to be announced in the january time-frame. once we're in february we can all have a good laugh at this rumor :)

i'd be happy to take the 1900's. be nice to have some REAL turboprops out here.:nana2:

You're getting the NWA DC-9s, and the mainline pilots will be wondering where the scope clause went. Though you'll be hardpressed to find one that voted "no" on the last TA.....

UR Bad at math. 18 more(36+36=72 90-72=18)
Management at Compass is sure that each airline(CPZ & XJ) are going to get 9 each.

Saab is under lease for 4.5 more years. They will shop in probably 3 years. That size plane fits the market of EAS routes we have.

not to put my head in the lions mouth here, but are you confirming the rumor? we're getting another 9 on top what we already have?
 
Watch Northwest all of the sudden decide that Compass is actually part of Mainline NWA and hence those 36 airplanes don't count towards the 90. XJ can pick up 54 more airplanes (plus however many more can go to Airlink as they have added bigger airplanes to Mainline).

MidTitanic anyone?

lol if thats true i shoulda interviewed at compass. but then again 54 more airplanes and i'd be pretty f'ing senior capt on one of the jets. monday quarterbackin' :)

Please tell us a source of these rumors? I hang out in 2 of the 3 crew rooms and haven't heard anything about this.

Thanks JEP for bringing clarity to what I thought was a clear point.

I'm willing to guess your sim partner was an upgrading FO? In your 32 hours in the box, I'm sure you heard plenty else too.

Or he coulda have heard it from a check airmen, and we all KNOW how much those guys like to start stuff up. :)

I still think NWA is gonna pull the IPO shuffle with Compass before the 30 months are up for the flowthrough. Time will tell, though.
 
Pump and dump.

Pinnacle is getting dumped and compass and mesaba are getting pumped. The roles will be reversed in a few years.
