How exactly is that company a mess?

They just lost their LAX base, they're starving for pilots, no contract, everyone leaves ASA for SKYW, their reserve is around 12 months, upgrade is 5+ years (no thanks), and mother SKYW owns them solid. If ASA cant get it together, there wont be an ASA anymore. Just ask ruasad (sp?).

Its rumored also that DAL has some "surpises" for ASA also.

Go ahead and go there. By the time you see upgrade, you'll be a 6 year FO. I'd rather go to Mesa in a heart beat.

I hope things improve for ASA but I have to think its going to bet worse before it gets better.

So does ASA have a training contract? Might be a good place to go and get free CRJ training and a hundred hours or so before I can get on with Skywest.

Not to mention DL is taking over all ground ops in ATL (except mx). The asymillation has begun.

I'm not dead set on ASA, but they are my first choice. There is XJT Pinnacle,Mesaba (they're getting new planes, they'll need captains) SKYW and others.

I have time on my side as I still have to start and complete training and then instruct. Who knows where the industry will be by then and which regional will be on top and who will be "bringing the industry down" by then!

As for Delta having plans for ASA. I was talking to my friend who was in town for the weekend. He is an ASA pilot and his partner is an ASA FA. He told me that in the contract of sale Delta stipulated that they can buy back ASA at any time or something like that. I forget his exact wrods. But went something to that affect.

To be honest, at this point everyone is considered fair game in my book. As I get closer then the list will get shorter, but they have time to make change. Another year, a better contract, and xxx regional could be top dog, even Mesa. Remember the pilots that are there are working to make it a better place, they just need to get to negociations.

Which I asked somewhere else, but will again. When is their negoications to begin? For some reason I think it is this summer.

Again, go in with eyes wide open. Also not sure when the CBA is up for renewal, but expect a might strong fight on both sides.

Expect the same deal that is occuring at ASA (5 yrs no new CBA) & PNCL to be occuring at Mesa!

I will go in full open eyes at any carrier, and I agree with all you said in this post!
