United Airlines says it is investigating after a vendor employee was found unharmed in an aircraft’s cargo hold following a flight from Charlotte to Washington Dulles International Airport.

The airline said in a statement to the Associated Press on Monday that United Express flight 6060 operated by Mesa Airlines landed safely at Dulles on Sunday.

The statement says once at the gate, an employee of the airline’s ground handling vendor was found in the cargo area. The employee wasn’t identified.

A spokeswoman for the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority directed questions to United.

Friend was the captain. Didn't find out until they landed in IAD and ground told them to call company because they believe there was a ramper in the belly.

It was the aft cargo compartment, which isn't climate controlled.

Except, you know the flight originated in CLT

No better in CLT...I actually remember back in the day @ CLT trying to find orange juice in the morning. All the RON aircraft having been ransacked. I mean....if you're gonna pillage the planes, leave just a little and you won't raise red flags.
