Possible Subversive
Borderline illegal behavior by Management that ends up nearly destroying the company? Yeah, it sounds like Mesa. Let's hope that the reorganization plan accepted includes a change in management.
It's official... Mesa is going to furlough 200 more pilots due to the loss of flying bringing the total (from 405) to 605 furloughed.
It's not that they cancelled flights, it's that MAG went back on their word for cancelling and flew the flights anyways...most of them empty, and then charging Delta for operating them as four hour delay completions. Most of the passesneger had been re-booked on other flights or given vouchers for hotels. So the money MAG owes Delta is for overcharging Delta for those flights.
If true and that is what they did then they deserve it.
Only question is if they did this then their completion rate wouldn't be so low - so I guess it's not that I don't believe you, I just don't understand how the two are connected.

I read a little bit and it seems like Delta didn't catch that MAG was screwing around with their numbers until it was too late AND until after the first attempt at Delta cancelling the MAG contract. It's all so bizarre. I think Delta just didn't take any interest in MAG operations, probably because they were cheap and cheap meant GREAT. Upon finding out that Delta was going to need real reasons to cancel them off, they did some searching and "OH WOW, they've been screwing us royally!"
That's just my reading of it, I may not have understood what I was reading.
Do you know what the timeline is?
