Yeah… if you could get ‘em to spend some time on Flight Sim to improve their instrument flying I don’t think there would be a huge need for all the sim time. But, I don't think many would opt to do that...

IT'S NOT COOL TO DO THAT! Just like it's not cool to participate in class anymore (anyone else notice this?) Seriously though, I've dissed on flightsim before, but boredom got the best of me up here lately, and I've started using it to just practice what I'm doing in my instrument lessons. It really helps a lot. I'd really rather have more self-study instead of ground classes featuring John Bridewell talking like this: "Ok PITCH....plus.... POWER....equals peformance. Remember that now. I'll say it again..." and on and on and on. However, such is the nature of choosing a 141 school. I'll deal.

yeah im not sure whats up with this pansy-ass gen Y crap that is filling our classes. too meek and timid to participate in class.... jesus.... participating actually makes it interesting and engaging instead of mind numbingly boring

EXACTLY dude. And our laptops make it a million times worse. I haven't seen many people that actually take their own notes on them. Actually, most of the more serious note-taking kids just use pen and paper, from what I've seen. The kids on the kids on the computers are just playing dumb internet video games. Do they seriously do this in their spare time? Really annoying. They might as well not even show up.
