Medical During Training

Hey all,

My google skills are somewhat lacking apparently. I am looking to start new hire class in Jan/Feb assuming I get hired. I received my 1st class medical in Aug and i’m over 40. Bring it expires on Mach 1st, will I need a new medical before training or does the 6 month the medical acts as a Second class sufficient? Thanks!

I don’t know which airline you work for, but we had to have a first class medical upon arrival to class. As an FO we are permitted to fly under 2nd class, but I assume they wanted to make sure we were capable of holding a first class medical before starting school. I would check with your HR department to confirm before you show up.

What airline? Augmented or unaugmented? Augmented, you likely need a valid First Classs. Unaugmented, you’re probably fine. Depends on what your airline’s FOM says.

When I started at my regional, you had to have a class 1 valid for 90 days beyond doh.
