MedExpress Error

I just went and got my medical with a new AME due to a move. He apparently pulled my 8500-8 form history (maybe they always do this and I never knew?) and asked me why I checked the box for high blood pressure in the past but did not check it on this year's MedExpress form.

I have never had an issue with high blood pressure and to the best of my knowledge I've never checked that box in all the years I've been filling out the form. I would assume that if I accidentally checked it sometime in the past and didn't add a PRNC comment for it, who ever I was getting my medical from that year would ask me about it (which nobody ever has).

The doc I saw today made a note on the form that I didn't know why the box was checked and that I have no history of high blood pressure.

Two questions... Is this going to be a problem and, is there a way to get that box checking history "unchecked" so I don't have to go through this every single year?

Thanks Doc.

There is a "history" report the AME pulls at every medical. It has a list of every question that ever had a positive answer. It sounds like the AME did a good job in explaining the discrepancy.

There is no way to remove an old positive answer in the FAA files

It will not be an issue with the FAA

Can the AME pull the history of physicians seen and when ( the last 3 yrs) and supply to applicant if requested prior, as asked on form? I cant remember all I listed and dates.... and would hate to get penalized or worse.. . How can I get that list, if available, on the .gov site?

No, the AME can only see what he has submitted. The old history the AME can pull is only at the time of the exam after the 8500-8 has been submitted by the airman and it is very general with no specific data - only that a question was answered yes.

can I offer the info re what doctors seen in "general" due to previously reported ie location, , yr? and list previously reported or do I need to provide specifics exactly
