maybe they don't allow a waiver b/c 99% of what is important to them is going to actually be your vision. I'm sorry. That sucks for you, but I am not surprised they won't allow you too control with a lazy eye.

I believe controllers who have already been trained are allowed to have waivers as well, but to be accepted into the program you have to be able to pass the medical with no waivers. For example, having high blood pressure or being on meds for high blood pressure will DQ you initially, but if you develop high blood pressure that can be corrected with meds, you will not lose your job.

Not true... many new hires are hired with a special issuance medical (waiver) for certain types of medication or health conditions.

There is an instructor at the academy that has monocular vision, and needless to say, he was a controller with no problems. I know that he received a waiver of some type.

I got one for my hearing.

Not that it matters anymore :D
