has the monthly photo contest ran it's course?
 
Not at all. Its a ton of fun. I just haven't really gotten any pics that would even remotely be in the running. I guess I will have to start taking more pictures...
 
Just throwing some ideas out there...change it to a three month/quarter/season contest? Allow people to submit more than one shot (up to 3, or 5, or something)?
 
Interestingly... I'm about 98% sure both of those photos were taken at the same place, roughly the same time.... KADW
 
I forgot my camera on most of my trips, and my phone won't turn out worth while pictures.
 
I can honestly say that most of the time I have no idea where to look for the catagory of photo for the next month. My good camera usually stays at home for my wife to get pics of our daughter, starting to walk now, while I am gone. I would love to participate but I think the contest needs to be advertised a little more. Sticky the next months topic for the duration of the month. And allow more time to vote.
 
Agreed. Dont kill it.

It would be nice to have a sub forum or the topics stickied.

Yeah. Don't kill it. Forgot to look at the theme for the month and before i knew it, we were voting again. More reminders or advertising it will also help.

you found it yesterday, and replied in it, same spot it always is stickied to the top of the sub-forum, with the same thread title it always has "whatever month photo contest". if we allow more time to vote, than people will complain there isn't enough time to shoot. getting the image takes a lot more effort than voting.

i don't really care one way or the other, but contests with 2 or 3 entries is pointless.
