Massive Avatars - Why

What is up with the handful of massive avatars out there? Some look huge even on my 1600px wide display. I thought there were size limits.

There are size limits.

However, when the user database was transferred from UBBThreads to vBulletin, the conversion didn't screen for avatar sizes and the new software doesn't scale them down to fit into the dimension limitations.

So when you see a huge avatar, you can help out by telling the user, 'Hey! Use something less massive. We don't need a 800x600 picture of your fly named Ted"
