I should have gone to a 141 school so I'd need 6-separate digital maps to keep from getting lost.

Just kidding - nice pics ;)

Great trip excellent pictures! You have lots of glass in the cockpit - 8 screens. Thanks for sharing.

Just curious, what's it like flying with the Cirrus joystick? Does it take a bit of getting used to, or does it feel right from the start?

It feels natural and intuitive. Flies like an airplane. The only difference that is hard to get used to is (in the older gens. I think G3 and older) there is a spring system that acts to neutralize the flight controls when you remove pressure (even without airloads) and the trim system is unique.

How fast does the SR20 cruise? I made an atlantic to pacific in a 172 a couple of months ago in 26.0. Interesting that it was only slightly slower.

Flys great... takes a little getting used to though. The stick is very sensitive, and the electric aileron/elevator trim takes a lot of babysitting to get just right..

It'll cruise around 148 tas @9gph... we had some nasty headwinds though.

It's quite a bit faster... I assume this trip was recent. Where I am, we've had winds out of the west at 40 Knots plus off and on for the past month at 2,000 AGL. Damn spring winds..

Wow, thanks for the photo set. It's stuff like this that reminds me why I love flying, and flying props! I've been to a lot of places like that, and it seems lately that with all the standardization and emphasis on IFR and the like, I've forgotten to look out the window and enjoy the view! Thanks for resetting my perspective :)

We had the same thing. There were days I was only seeing 70kts across the ground... that's what really struck me with the times being close.

I've gotten the Cherokees I fly to go backwards a few times in the past month. Fun doing instrument holds when your Gs one way is 150 Knts, and the other in 60:crazy:

Wow... Awesome pics man. I love those runway pics of Jackson County 1A7. Looks like you had a blast. Would love to do a coast to coast like this. Nice.
