Man what a great flight!

So finally got back in the air yesterday (Saturday 2/27), and man what a flight.

Visibility was about 7 miles, calm winds, no turbulance, and I made 3 very nice landings.

No training this time around, just went from PDK over FTY, a quick touch and go, then through Atlanta along I-20, over to 47A for another quick touch and go, and then back to PDK for a nice soft field landing.

It was nice to get back in the cockpit and then even better to just FLY around. Sometimes we forget why we started flying in the first place, because we spend all our time in the plane doing manuvers, learning to land, or emergency procedures. While this is all important I think it's important to take those little sight seeing trips or $100 hamburger flights.

I'm going to have to table my flying for the month of March, but April is going to kick arse. I expect to be announcing that I have my checkride scheduled before the end of April.

Just thought I'd share.

Later.

Is the Liberty Bell still at PDK?

I flew a couple of pax to FTY last week, and had to make a quick run over to PDK to drop off some replacement tires for the Galaxy. Didn't have time to look around, but saw the B17 there - looked cool. Wish I had had the time to look her over, but had to get back to FTY.

It's still there, I meant to stop and admire it after my flight, but forgot to turn in on the otherside on my way home.

Ah well maybe I'll catch it later this week...if it's still there.

Hey Aaron, I also went flying Sat, it was a great day. I tried to go up to GVL, but the ceiling was Overcast at 1700, so I climbed on top. I took that little C-150 up to 12,500 feet, man it was great.... the mountains to the north were sticking out of the clouds... it looked like snow 10000 feet below. Also landed down at Rust strip to get a grass landing in and landed twice at Berry Hill. If you've never been in there, I would ask your instructor if you could practice some short field lds there.
