CT?No, our fleet manager sucks. I got a call from him saying I was not allowed to fly at any cruise speed without asking dispatch, despite our maneuvers and profiles section stating there are 3 approved cruise profiles.
Sometimes there isn't more to the story...

Be glad he's just the fleet manager and not the CP.Yes.

Sounds like a wonderful guy to have as a boss.Only 300/.74. No asking the controllers for more speed or less.

NOT
Ok I'll agree with him on that pointIn fairness, he did say that the only way to not do the planned speed is to ask DX permission.
Technically... no. Look up commutator. And rectifier.A DC motor will generate DC power when spun.
Pack fans, yo.UA lost a 727 in the ocean off of LAX when they differed one generator, took off into night IMC, then lost an engine/generator. 3rd generator couldn't keep up and they went dark and spatial disorientation kicked in.
Sounds like something that should be reported to the safety department. It is. But the fleet manager wanted to manage and second guess anyway.

Wow! What was the result of this after you got the union involved? This sounds like a serious safety problem here.He is the company rep in the safety department.
