Majors Differences?

I have a saying for my monthly neighborhood poker game which I believe is apropos here; "the worm always turns!"

Nobody looking at the industry 20 years ago could have foreseen where it ended up; Eastern, Braniff, Pan Am, TWA, Piedmont (the real one!), America West, Midway - merged or gone; United, USAir, Delta, Northwest - in or just out of bankruptcy. 20 years ago UPS didn't really have planes and FedEx, Airborne and DHL looked just OK; Airtran, JetBlue, Spirit, Frontier (the new one!) didn't exist; Southwest chugged along but who wanted to fly 737's 6 legs-a-day the rest of their career?

Everything has changed for the "majors." So, the question you have to ask yourself is, [movie quote]"Do I feel Lucky?"

"Well, do ya, punk?" [/movie quote]

I have no idea who you are, or where you came from but I really hope you stick around here.

My choices are.

1.) Delta Airlines

1/2.) Delta Airlines

1/3.) Delta Airlines

2.) United

3.) Continental

Of course anything could change between now and then. But Southernjets has always been my favorite airline and first choice!

Thanks for the compliment!

I work at Doug's company, by way of 7 years active in the Navy, 1 year at Ransome/Pan Am Express, 3 years at Piedmont (the real one!)/USAir... so basically I can't keep a job... 8^0

I live close to ORD and fly the B767ER out of JFK, so Doug and I will probably be drinking beer together in Frankfurt soon.

Let's see how things turn out at "Southernjets" over the next year or so... I'm cautiously optimistic!

Things look good. You're the 800 lbs. gorilla post bk. other airlines know it too. Thats why they're trying to block your bid to china, or making failed attempts at a shotgun merger!

:)

:yeahthat:

Like I said, cautiously optimistic. I've been at this long enough to see how things can turn...

Merger? Shoot, that was a straight up mob hit and gutting everything but the European operation in the name of 'synergy'.

I think if thinks work out, Southernjets is going to be the 800 gorilla for sure -- but they've got to maintain and capitalize for the cohesion that dru... err, Doug Parker exhumed.

Sometime in April apparently. May's my base month on the MD-88/90 so I presume at least by April.

I was hoping to be on VA Avenue in time enough to purchase an adult beverage for PeanuckleCRJ who is in the first class of 14 new hires, but I think he'll be on IOE by then.

Poor guy's going to be a shuttle mad dog driver! :) Can't wait to hear his experiences flying the tank into DCA on the River Visual!

May in Europe is nice! Where will you be on the list? If you're junior plan on being the AMS/BRU/MAD/BCN/MXP King for awhile... not too shabby.

The problem with international is you never want to go back to domestic...

I can hold M88A in NYC but have you looked at those trips?!!
