I figure if a city has a pre-established weight limit, it should be respected for a variety of reasons, until changed.

I'd like to park in handicapped spaces at the grocery store because they're hella-convenient, but I'm not going to lobby city hall to build more convenient "Lazy Doug" parking spots!

Ok so basically what your saying is the 737-800/900 has different landing gear and a different wing then the 737-700.

I thought the landing gear/wing on the 737-800/900 was the same as the 737-700 just strenghten.

With the wing on the 800/900 being longer then the 700 but still essentially the same wing.

Instead once you get enough clout demand that the city have community use Segways in all parking lots onver 100' in length. You could also demand a latte drive through in all megalomart like stores that have isles the size of a short runway.
