Lunch box food revisited

Tip the van driver. Even if it is a buck, that's still a good chunk of what they make. Good karma. It will come back to you, promise!

This. At least you know at the end of a 16 hour duty day you have a better chance of getting to the hotel in a timely manner. Its not fun waiting on a shuttle for 2 hours for a 15 minute ride.

That is why we only wait 15 mins and then take a taxi is the van is not there.

Oh yeah, I wish I had that luxury at some other jobs. I'm pretty lucky now that more often than not i just get a rental. I hate being held hostage by a driver.

That's a nice contract rule, but it isn't very practical at many airports, where the taxis are a long way from the hotel pick up area. I'd rather just tip the van drivers so they don't feel that we're scum and treat us as such.

I've got to agree with Jace on the tipping stuff. Granted, I do tip the van driver a dollar, I hate doing it half the time because I feel like most don't deserve it...simply for the facts that Jace stated. What irks me is when these drivers expect a tip and stare at you waiting. If they are on time waiting at the airport/load bags they get a dollar. If they are late, rude, just plain weird no dollar. Sorry, but it's a shame that society expects tips all the time it's a shame.

Flight attendants simply do not make enough to tip, so you can't fault them for not doing it. And tipping maids....seriously? No.
