Low timer looking for work

Hey guys brand new to JC but I've been a long time lurker though. Now I'm looking to land a low time position. I have 260TT, 51 multi with my high performance and complex endorsements. I'm from New England( Go Pats!) but relocation isn't an issue. I'm a fully rated military Air Traffic Controller with the guard and i can go on the AWS drill schedule. I don't have my CFI certs and I'm not in a position to get them in the near future. I appreciate any leads.

I hate to say it but you can always try Sierra West. low pay, only 6 hard days off per month and the bases are ELP and TOL but its a way to rack up the total and multi time to make you a little bit more marketable.
 
@drupilot54 so far I've put in to Seaport and Air Choice One as well as Keystone Aerial Surveys but i got the thanks but no thanks from them. I missed this past survey season as i was still in upgrade training at my ATC facility but i will be putting for all of them this year. @z987k ill take a look at that thanks for the heads up. Looks like its one of those times where i just need to keep my nose to the grind stone.

If anything comes up guys beers will be on me!

I applied to Seaport and Air Choice one as well. Never heard anything back. I would prefer a thanks but no thanks email over nothing. Looks like the Utah skydiving place is getting a lot of attention.

Exact same thing happening to me. It's a bottle neck down here. Plenty of flying positions once ATP rated(and even 135 mins) but a veritable canyon to cross to get there. the day will come.

I completely agree. Heck I have seen opportunities starting at 500 hours as well for cargo operators. But you're right, the first bridge to cross is getting out of the low hours mark.

That's the issue right there is getting to the 500TT point. it looks like we just gotta keep our nose to the grind stone and keep an ear out. When would you say the window for the survey season opens up?
 
Banner towing, glider towing, sky diving.

Or you can wait around forever trying to get in at Seaport etc, who probably won't take you with 250hrs. Survey jobs generally only take that low if they're desperate.
 
I have seen survey people start hiring around the August time frame and start in October. Atleast that was the case for the places i called. Then again like @KKochan said it is kind of rare to find a aerial company that will take us with our time.
 
Call around to the local drop zones. I chucked a few emails out earlier this week. Basically I have a full time career right now but said I'm available for backup or on call as needed. Local guy said he's full right now but referred me to another a little ways North of me, He said he would love to have a weekend backup guy.

Check out air america down in daytona beach for low time jobs. They usually hire in the fall i believe

Or look into aerial patrol companies that use observers.(KCSI, Bar Air patrol) . Great way to rack up hours

Do you know anyone that's had any luck with an observer pilot gig? That's a route I'd to find out about as well.
 
For the low timers, pilotbry put something up regarding sky lense. Wouldn't hurt to throw in an app if you have at least 300TT (stated mins are higher, but you never know).
