Low time with turbine PIC time or High time No TPIC

Forget the low time gig. If 121 Legacy is your goal 300 hrs a year of TPIC is not going to give you quick career progression. Especially if it isn't 121 TPIC. Having no 121 experience you'll probably have to go to the regionals anyway even after the PIC gig. Apply to Compass, PSA or Mesa. That's your quickest route to the Legacies.

TPIC is still king. I can't get calls from any of the legacies currently, even with widebody Boeing time, some internal recs (still working on Delta and United recs, though...), and a degree. Meanwhile, RJ CAs are getting picked up.

There was a 767 guy in my class who previously flew the MD-11 before getting furloughed, and he is in the same boat as you. Crazy how that works.

Yup they are.

To be fair, I could probably do more. I could chase around every WIA and OBAP job fair too, but there's no guarantee any of that would do anything. What makes me scratch my head are the regional FOs ending up at legacies. More power to 'em, but apparently they know something I don't. :)

Hello, I been given the opportunity to become a captain on a turboprop aircraft but I am only able to log around 300 hrs yearly, my concern is if better for me to go to a regional airlines and that way I will have a high total time in a couple of years. My total now is 1800tt, 650 ME and TPIC 80. Want to know all yours opinions, thx

Sadly, if you want to work for one of the "Big Five", I'd lean toward the regional.

I think you answered your own question;)

What's the mantra of the website?

That's how.

Hey man, I'm all about networking. It's how I've gotten all my jobs up to this point, and I'm pushing for recs left and right. But right now it simply feels like it's all about who jumps through the most number of hoops. It's just frustrating that widebody international time gets trumped by who spends more money on job fairs.

Meh, don't mind me. It's a long day over here and I'm just feeling blah today.
