lost a buddy to Jet-U

I don't agree with that. I don't think bridge programs guys are not destroying industry at all wages at all. Whatever somebody wants to spend on their training thats their business, not mine or any other pilots. BTW the 35k just represents Jet U guys. You know most bridge programs are much cheaper than that.

So, you're telling me that an HR department that's concerned with a pass/fail rate b/c it affects the bottom line is gonna take the 900/200 guy over the 600/100 guy that paid $7K for a bridge program? I disagree. In fact, from back in the day when you needed 1000/100, I've got a nice letter from PSA telling me EXACTLY that. I had 900/200, and they wouldn't touch me.....but they'd be happy to offer me an interview if I took an RJ course or got a CRJ type. If the economy keeps going down and airlines keep looking for ways to cut costs, they'll look at their risk assessment and say "Well, this guy spent $7K of his own money to get the training already, so he's already seen the material." Odds are risk management will say take the low time guy with bridge over the guy that didn't take the bridge program. They're just concerned with him getting through training. Once that's done, it's out of their hands and in the hands of the CAs.

That, too me, is raising the cost of getting to a regional. We've had this argument before, but it looks like it's just going to keep going and going. I realize it's not my money, but if I were trying to get into this deal right now.....I'd still be slinging bags on the ramp b/c the cost of training is not worth putting yourself in the poor house.
