Looking for work, willing/would like to move

If you are in Socal, why not just show up at AMF? Keep trying until someone talks to you. I did that at a few places and while I have not gotten any job offers yet at least they know who I am and return my emails. AMF is definitely hiring and having some time in PA31 should put you in a good spot. Keep trying.

have you ever done any firefighting?

No. I wish. I'd love to fly fires. But as I understand it, it requires a lot of volunter work, and I can't afford to work w/out compensation. Having a family and all makes the opportunities I can accept a little limited.

90 days as a firefighter in some capacity (including air attack pilot) and with your time you could potentially (with good networking ;) ) get a govt gig flying lead planes....you have any twin cessna (340/402) baron or 337 or Aero Commander time?

No. That where I "get got" every time. It's all in PA31's and a Lear. Funny thing is, managing the engines in a turbocharged airplane is way more than in any of the NA airplanes you list. I'd love a firefighting gig, but I don't have access to any of the airplanes I need time in.

Edit to add: I'd be willing to sell one of my kidneys to get a fire fighting position.

Get on with an engine crew. Or a Type I/II hand crew. Good $$$.

did you send a resume to the place that I told you about?

You have told me about a few, and I appreciate it very much. But I can't seem to get responses. I think I might try and get on a engine crew somehow, and try to break into the firefighting gig.

I got a call from a guy in Amarillo, Tx a few weeks back looking for a pilot to do what I'm doing down south here. Also one in Maine on the orange site. I'm always on the hunt as well so if I see something ill give you a shout. To bad you couldn't come this way when we were looking. It's the end of the world but I support my wife and 2 kids on it. If you aren't stuck to SoCal anymore I'll look. I've found searching indeed.com works too since it pulls jobs from other sites.

Bump. Still looking for some help. Even if someone wants to help with my resume/cover letter writing skills. I have a feeling that that is part of my problem.

I gained a lot by working at SkyWest....you could easily get to work from LAX it would be a tough first year, but it could help you establish your career...just a thought.
